Hire Pathways Home
| Hire Pathways is an education and training program for young adults (ages 17-21) offered by WorkOne West Central of Western Indiana. Hire Pathways offers young adults assistance with attaining a GED or High School Diploma, transition assistance to post-secondary education, occupational skill training, work readiness training, paid work experience or internship, and job placement assistance. My name is Jesse Harvey and I am currently in a paid internship with WorkOne. I got this Internship by being a part of a program offered through WorkOne called “Hire Pathways”. Hire Pathways is an education and training program, which offers four different pathways. Those pathways are: Education, College, Careers, and Jobs. I was in the Education and the Job Pathways. In the Education Pathway, Hire Pathways helped me learn the skills needed to obtain my General Education Diploma (GED), and pay for the testing. After getting my GED I was eligible for a $100.00 incentive as a reward! The next pathway I started is called the Hire Pathway 4 Jobs. This is a six week program, and personally I think it was REALLY FUN. I was in a group of my peers and we went around doing community service for local businesses. We remodeled a home for Transitional Housing, and even handed out gifts to the elderly at retirement homes. We did some class work training as well. The best part of this pathway is that you get paid hourly! $$$$ At the end of the program, my peers and I were placed in paid Internships. I’m in a great Internship where I have a very important job, helping out around the office. Any Internship you want, the Hire Pathways team will try everything in their power to get you the internship. No matter what though, you will be placed into an internship of your choice.
